These 3 sheets display the 10 different shot types I have learnt about. For my college magazine i used the medium shot. For my music magazine i am going to use a medium close up shot.

Research and Planning: My College Contents Analysis

I included things that students at a college would appreciate knowing about, such as the activities would be read by students aged between 16-18. also there is vouchers pages as students do not have a high income and vouchers would be seen as useful to them. Students would want to know about trips such as the trip to Italy with geography. Also some students believe in horoscopes or want to pass time between lessons by doing sudoku and reading their horoscopes. These are a few reasons the magazine is appropriate for the audience - Students.

 College Magazine Evaluation

I used many different techniques on photoshop, in order to create the hair going over the College masthead. I had to add some of the hair as an extra layer. I used the 3 colour scheme which is known for use on magazines. This gave it a proffesional look. I also displayed the costa logo as an established brand would attract people to use the cafe and used the quote 'catch up with a cuppa at costa' using alliteration to add effect so people read it. I also displayed on the cover that it included dates of events and trips at college to attract those interested in getting involved in activities in college.i also added a new font onto the computer which had a college title to do the masthead and a stand out sub heading in the centre which also said new! This showed it was a special edition of the magazine. I also took a photo of a medium close up which was the appropriate shot for the cover of the magazine. 

I used in design to create the contents page which includes things which would interest college students.

These two Photos I used for the college magazine draft and were merged together to make the front cover. I used the quick selection tool to erase the background from the image and drag the male onto the bright field background.

Research and Planning: Audience Interviews

I asked my interview questions to people around the college. I used the answers to modify my magazine page from the constructive ideas I was told.

I asked the Question Do you like the colour scheme so if multiple interviewers didn't like the colour scheme I would change it to be more attractive, This is acting on feedback to improve the magazine to show it was aimed at college students.

I asked do you like the Publication Line, so if it wasn't 'catchy' or appreciated by the interviewee then I would act on my feedback and change it to suit my target age group.

I asked how much would you pay, so I could add a price onto the cover of the magazine or to make to magazine free so more people are likely to read it.

Research and Planning: Semiotics Font Activity

I was asked to make 3 fonts using ideas of semiotics, the first font I was asked to create a font for a pop magazine masthead. I got all the fonts I used off DaFont. The second Masthead is for a rock style magazine so i got a sharp font with edges. The final font is for a Masthead on a film review magazine which i used colour fill to make it bright and suit the theme.

I am going to ask questions to random people around the college. I will use the feedback in order to improve the cover of my college magazine and also what information to include on the cover.

These questions are the ones I am going to ask around the college:

- Do you think the colour scheme is appropriate?

- Do you like the publication line?

- What aged people do you think the magazine is aimed at?

- How much would you pay for a college magazine?

- Does the cover make it look like it is aimed at college students?

Research and Planning: Medium Close-Up Shots

These two shots are Medium close up as they are above the waist and include the shoulders and face. it is not a medium shot as this would show the full torso. And it is not a close up as this would just show the face

Research and Planning: Analysis of College Magazine

Target Audience - The audience is students as the masthead is 'College' and has articles including information which would be insteresting for someone between the ages 15-20 the age of a student studying at College.

Media language and information - The shot type on the cover is a medium close up. The cover keeps to the 'three colour rule' meaning that there is not to many colours and doesnt look like there is too much going on. The male in the photo is holding books which potrays him as a student.

Research and Planning: Indesign Tutorial

Here is a film review which i edited  using the program In Design, I filtered the text and placed it in column using the column creator and made 3 columns and added the photo which I used fill to border to enlarge the photo. Finally I added the title which I used the stroke technique which added a small border around each letter of the text. Then I removed all margins and ruler lines to reveal how it will look when saved or what it would look like on a website.

Research and Planning: Photoshop Challenge

This is the photoshop challenge, to test my abilities of using text and editing it. i started by creating an A4 document with a blue background. I then added drop shadow to the text, then I added a photo and changed the hair colour by using the pen tool with a low opacity so the hair folicles can be seen. Then added a border using the stroke option to change the layer

Research and planning: skin tutorial

This is the third lesson on photoshop and this was a skin tutorial, I started by using the spot healing tool, I then changed the colour of the hair and also the lips. I then went on to add a dark smoky eyeshadow and eyelashes, finally I added blusher to the image to give the effect of  having a full face of make up.

Research and Planning: Film Poster Activity

To create my film poster I used many techniques on photoshop in order to place faces over the muppets, I used the actors Daniel Craig and Vin Diesel to fill their places, also I used color balance so the heads matched the colour of their bodies. I cut the heads out using the lasso tool to go around the edges of the face. I cut out the top of mrs piggys hair out and placed it over Vin diesel to give the illusion the hair was over his forehead.
